Why does it say my signature requires further review?

If you signed a document with Mifiel's simple electronic signature —the option where you take a photo of your face and your ID— you may see that your signature is "awaiting manual review." Here's what that means.

What's happening?

Sometimes the automated check can't confirm the photos on its own, often for a simple reason such as the lighting, the angle, or the clarity of the photo of your face or your ID; when that happens, a person reviews it manually.

What do I need to do?

Usually nothing right away — the document manager handles the review. What happens next depends on their decision:

  • If the photos are fine, your signature is approved and you don't need to do anything else.
  • If a clearer verification is needed, you'll receive an email asking you to verify your identity and sign again. Keep an eye on your inbox so you can complete it in time.
  • In some cases, the document may no longer be needed and will be withdrawn.

If you're asked to sign again, it helps to use your original physical ID (not a copy or a photo of a screen), be in a well-lit place, and take clear photos of your face and your ID.
